FIFTH NATIONAL SMOCKING COMPETITION - 2006OBJECTIVE: To encourage innovation in the use of African fabrics, African traditions, colours, fauna, flora and landscapes and to promote perfection in smocking. DATE: 22 April 2006 - Johannesburg SECTIONS:

PRIZES IN EACH SECTION:
The prizes include smocking pleaters, embroidery threads, books, patterns, smocking and other magazine subscriptions, haberdashery and gift vouchers from various shops and companies. CERTIFICATES will be awarded to all entries. The JUDGES' DECISION IS FINAL, and no discussion or correspondence will be entered into. The Madeline Bird Floating Trophy will be awarded to the item that receives the most votes in the Viewers' Choice. It will be for the item that has "the most appeal" for the general viewer of the exhibition. ENTRY:
